Workshop on ICT for Health Services at Tampere May 25-26, 2010 The national workshop on Information and Communication Technology for Health Services will gather 800 social and health service professionals together at Tampere on May 25-26, 2010. The contemporary scope includes electronic prescriptions and patient histories, among other services enhanced by information technology. The presentation topics include regional co-operation, joint acquisitions, strategic decision making, information security, and health care. The seven parallel sessions include two sessions focused onto social care and one session is dedicated to research on social and health care.
The workshop is a great opportunity to meet colleagues and Tampere House is a great place for the occasion. Atostek Ltd will also be there and demonstrate a vendor independent communication interface complying to the XDS profile.
- The "next big thing" in public health care will be regional general archives for imaging and electronic patient information. Acquisition of these archives will be as revolutional as the PACs ten years ago. A vendor specific communication system would not enable regional and national co-operation like XDS will, explains Mika Torhola from Atostek Ltd.
